Montana Mule Deer
In between guiding my deer hunters I scouted some public ground in Eastern Montana and was carrying my custom hand gun. This buck was with several doe and was pre occupied with them. I began the stalk but bumped the deer and they ran over the ridge. After finding them in the bottom of a coulee I stalked within 60 yards. A quick shot off the sticks anchored this neat deer. I had a great 2010!
Montana Elk I was guiding elk hunters in Montana for 3 weeks and finally had a chance of my own to hunt. The rut was still going strong the first week of October and I located this great bull early in the morning. After sitting on him for 6 hours waiting for the wind to get right and the bull to get into position I made my move. Some sweet sounds from my Bugling Bull bully bull tube and this monarch was out smarted. He is my best bull ever at a score of 355. I was able to snap a photo of him hours earlier as he bedded with his cows near by.
Wyoming Antelope
Summer was winding down and that meant antelope hunting. I headed to Wyoming and hunted with a friend of mine. After 3 hot days over 100 degrees in the blind I was able to take this goat. My friends son missed him 2 days earlier and I had 3 chances at him in 1 day before I finally got the 26 yard shot. Another Pope and Young trophy for the wall.
Bear Hunting in Canada
I had a great spring so far and it only got better. I ventured to the far reaches of Northern Alberta with Garrett Brothers Outfitters. On the first night I shot the biggest bear to date. He went only 15 feet and captured it all on video. He was over 300 pounds and measured at 19 6/8.
I enjoy an outstanding week in Alberta and on the last night I anchored this huge bear on video again with my Hoyt Maxxis. He is a true giant at over 7 foot and measured 20 1/2 inches. I saw a total of 67 bears during the great hunt.
Montana Turkey Hunt
The Montana season was cold and snowy but I was able to find some mountain birds on public ground. After setting up on this bird the night before and working him for an hour I called it quits as a big storm set in. I returned the next morning. The set up was perfect but the birds were stubborn. Nearly 2 hours of intermitent calling and some blind moving this bird committed for the last time. Another harvest with the Hecs suit and Hoyt bow.
Nebraska Turkey Hunt
I spent 5 days in Nebraska for the opener of spring turkey in 2010. I was with my good friend Dave and his son Warren. We were into birds everyday and in all total shot 6 birds with archery equipment all on video in just 3 days. What a great hunt and look forward to next year.
