1/07/2010 --> 2009 Season Update
After guiding clients all fall and mixing in several of my own hunts I was able to arrow this old bruiser from Montana. I was hunting just before Thanksgiving and located this buck rutting a doe in the sage hillsides of Eastern Montana. I took a Montana Decoy and slipped down along a deep creek bank. I covered 300 yards and located a low spot in the river bank. I crept up the bank and anchored my decoy down roughly 100 yards away from him. It took less than 15 seconds for the buck to spot my decoy and walk straight over to me. I drew the bow when he was behind a tall sage bush and settled the 30 yard pin on his shoulder. A minute later he was taking a dirt nap.
Happy New year to all and good luck in 2010. Off to ATA show and more in the coming weeks... see you then!

6/24/2009 --> Manitoba Spring Bear

Jim just got back home to Belgrade a fewdays ago. He saw a bunch of bears just none that were big enough for his liking! Jim was with Rocket Ryan for Outback Outdoors and they were hunting with Adrenaline Outfitters in Northern Manitoba. "Everything was great, this outfitter is the real deal - we just had rainy, crappy weather all week!" said Jim. Ryan did end up shooting a nice size bear though and they got some great footage for an upcoming webisode at http://www.outbackoutdoors.net
4/29/2009 --> Turkey Season in Full Swing
Jim just returned from a 3 state turkey archery hunt over a 10 day period. The early season was very tough but a few birds fell to the Hoyt. The conditions were tough on this early season hunt but hours in the blind paid off. Stay tuned to Outback Outdoors (www.outbackoutdoors.net) to see these hunts in the rain and snow and dont worry the laughs were plenty!

3/18/2009 --> Rack Focus Camera School
Jim just recently returned from a very comprehensive videography school put on by Jason Brown, founder of Rack Focus and his crew in Midland, Michigan. It was a three day class which had eight students in attendance. Most of the students had video experience but a few were beginners. The class covered all experience levels and the teachers explained all aspects of the class very well. If you are looking to improve your level of videography, this class is a must. Look for a class on editing in the near future. Please feel free to contact Jack Pine Productions or myself for further details. Click Here to view Rack Focus Video School

Jim just returned from the 25th anniversary of the Rocky Mountain Elk Federation show in Ft. Worth Texas.

Mossy Oak was honored as becoming a corporate sponsor for the federation. A good time was had by all who attended and Mossy Oak is proud to help out.
